DeLuxe-ICT Green Computing
This is our managment initiative to invest
in recycling, re-use and environmentally friendly disposal of
used IT hardware from our UK and other sources in compliance with Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations, EU and other International
environmental standards.
How do we ensure compliance to
WEEE?
- We only import mainly from UK companies who are compliant with the
WEEE regulations or its EU equivalent for IT
hardware recycling and disposal.
We only procure IT hardware which are functional or can be re-conditioned for
use.
All non-functional IT hardware are stripped to its components/parts and
dispatched for recycling in the UK or EU source. Therefore IT waste do not
end up in Ghana.
We strive to re-use at least 40%
of the components of the end-of-life IT hardware (second-generation) after we
sell to our customers in Ghana.
Our customers can return their old and non-functioanl
hardware for repairs or disposal if they buy a replacement from us.
